Pharmacy claims to begin processing following Medicaid cyberattack

According to the Vermont Department of Health, pharmacy claims will now begin processing again for drugs dispensed during the Change Healthcare outage.

A massive cyberattack on United Health Group and Change Healthcare, a medical payment processor, knocked out services for three weeks.

While it has been back online for users, pharmacies have been waiting to make claims on the drugs processed during the time the site was down. Now, pharmacies can reach out to an assistance line to help navigate claims processing.

They are also asking that any co-pays collected from member patients be reimbursed, and Vermont Medicaid will pay out pharmacies. The Vermont Department of Health Access says Optum, Change Healthcare’s parent company, has a helpdesk that can assist pharmacies with claims. Pharmacies can reach that at 1-844-679-5362.
