Southwestern Vermont Medical Center OB/GYN Presents Intimacy in the Middle Years and Beyond
BENNINGTON, VT—August 30, 2019—Middle age can be one of the most rewarding and exciting times of a woman’s life, but many women at this stage experience challenges in their intimate relationships. Southwestern Vermont Medical Center OB/GYN Dr. Themarge Small will share her insights and advice during a special presentation, Intimacy in the Middle Years and Beyond: A gynecologist-led talk about sex for women who have hit their stride.
The event will be held 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25 at Milne Public Library, 1095 Main St. in Williamstown, MA. The program is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited. Register at 802-447-5019 or by e-mail at ashley.jowett@svhealthcare.org by September 20.
Whether we are 35, 55, 75 or older, healthy sexuality can be part of what makes our lives and partnerships rewarding. Dr. Small will lead this session for women in perimenopause and beyond. She’ll explain the physiological changes that start in the middle years and continue through maturity, how they affect our intimate relationships, and what we can do to improve our sexual health now and in the years ahead.
Themarge Small, MD, FACOG, is an obstetrician and gynecologist at SVMC OB/GYN. She received her medical degree at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine. In addition, she earned a bachelor’s in political science from the University of Vermont and a post-baccalaureate certificate in premedical studies from Mills College in California. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.
Dr. Small served as the chair of the department of OB/GYN in 2014 and 2015 and as the vice president of the medical staff from 2016 to 2018. She is currently president of the medical staff. In addition to her role at SVMC, she is a clinical assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine. Dr. Small is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
