HEALTHY VERMONT. TOGETHER.
Last week, and for the first time in VAHHS history, hospital communicators gathered for a daylong retreat to share ideas and experiences. We are fortunate in Vermont to have a completely not-for-profit hospital system made up of 15 hospitals across the state. Together, we deliver accessible and high-quality care to Vermonters and those in our neighbor states.
Stories of partnership and collaboration were abundant. Leaders shared initiatives to address opioid abuse and decrease homelessness. The eight hospitals that participate in a fresh food initiative in partnership with the Vermont Foodbank talked about the program's impact on the health of patients. Ongoing and enhanced collaborations with colleges and other training programs, to recruit, develop, and retain workforce is a top priority for many of Vermont's hospitals.
Over and over one theme continued to surface--each partnership, collaboration, community investment, building improvement has the same mission at its core: our dedication to our patients, their families and the communities we are so honored to be a part of and to serve.
Vermont's hospitals are working together to make Vermont a healthier, stronger place, but our work doesn't end there, we partner with hundreds, thousands of community organizations, employees and volunteers to achieve this mission. We believe this vision for a Healthy Vermont. Together. is possible and we can't wait to tell you more about how these efforts are improving lives.
