Statement on New Green Mountain Care Board Appointments
The following statement is from Jeff Tieman, VAHHS President and CEO, regarding the appointment of two new Green Mountain Care Board members:
"On behalf of Vermont’s non-profit hospitals, the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems extends its congratulations to the new Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) appointees, State Senator Kevin Mullin of Rutland and Maureen Usifer, formerly CFO at Seventh Generation. We would also like to thank Governor Scott for making these appointments. Senator Mullin has a long record as an engaged and thoughtful representative from Rutland. He will be missed in the State House, but we are pleased he’ll continue in public service and help to guide the GMCB in its work. Maureen has an impressive resume that includes business experience at one of Vermont’s most iconic brands, and her perspective will be a welcomed addition to the GMCB. We look forward to working closely with the entire GMCB on the many challenges and opportunities ahead.
There are a number of important issues before the Green Mountain Care Board right now that will benefit from a fully staffed board to carry out regulatory processes. Additionally, we look forward to our continued work with the GMCB as well as the new appointees to help bring about meaningful health care reform in Vermont."
